Pride of Program
Mini Rugby

Pride of Program has CW looking towards the future, building on our history, continuing to improve and maintaining our status as one of the top rugby clubs in British Columbia and in Canada. To us it is about more than just eighty minutes on the pitch. The CW Rugby Program accentuates the whole rugby experience. We are a club with a foundation based on respect and honour for the game of rugby and for the manner in which the game is to be played. We are committed to the healthy development of our young players and for the people who contribute their time freely because of their love of the game and for the CW club.

Recruitment

CW Rugby is looking for athletes who want to be part of a great club with a unique and special history. Being a Castaway Wanderer is more than just being part of a competitive team, it's about the club and your community. We judge ourselves not just by what we achieve on the pitch but also what we achieve off the pitch.

Coaching/Player Development

Mini Rugby

Players looking to develop their skills will experience the highest possible level of coaching available. At every level of our program, players are tutored by International, National, Provincial and Professional level coaches. Our team of volunteers is committed to providing skills development and training in a fun and safe environment. Whether you are an elite player looking to advance your skills or new to the game and looking to learn, our coaches will work with you all.

The Program

The CWRFC program today involves over 350 players, starting at six years of age. Our Senior Men's teams compete in what is widely considered as being the most competitive Division in Canadian Rugby.

History of CWRFC

Mini Rugby

CWRFC has a long, storied history in British Columbia Canada. Our journey dates back almost 100 years. The club is the amalgamation of the Oak Bay Wanderers and the Castaway Rugby organizations in the early 1990's. The Club proudly displays BC Championship banners from 199 to 2002, three consecutive seasons of interlock play involving Vancouver Island and Mainland clubs- a feat accomplished by only one other BC Club. Whether it is via Club tours of visiting teams of all ages, the National Senior Men's Team members, players from coast to coast and internationally, or CW players currently on professional contracts, the Castaway Wanderers name and brand is known across Canada and around the world. It is a respected Club of choice for local players, national team players and international players looking to play on the West Coast of Canada.
